It was developed by Czech company and published by gathering developers.  It was released in 2002 for windows and later it was also released for Xbox and PlayStation 2 in 2004. A sequel , Maffia ii it was released in 23 Aug 2010 for Xbox 360 and windows.
The city of lost heaven  the taxi driver Tommy Angelo Don Salieri's henchmen, Sam and Pauli has a chance encounter with two, and Salieri's arch enemy and former colleague Morello ends their lives. Salieri given the opportunity to work for the organization, but they are poor but prefer to remain valid, politely refused. However, the next day he is  attacked by two Hit men sent by Morello . Tommy escapes into their bar and Morello man's follow him Salieri's men, murder the attacker and  saved his life which, Indebted,  Tommy becomes a Salieri’s getaway driver
